Each year, the cultural centers host culture and identity-based graduation celebrations to honor students from historically marginalized groups.
The ceremonies are a way to recognize the impact these students have had on CPP, their local communities and around the world.
“These celebrations also provide a space for students and their family members/supporters to reflect on accomplishments, celebrate the richness, diversity, and history of their communities, and acknowledge those who have supported them along their journey,” Senior Associate Vice President and Dean of Students Jonathan Grady said. “As the institution strives toward a goal of inclusive excellence, it must continue to be wholly grounded in values of equity, justice, and social responsibility and recognize the contributions and victories of historically marginalized groups in intentional, authentic, and loving ways.”
Below is a list of when and where each cultural center is hosting their celebrations. Students may register for one or more celebrations using this link: https://calpolypomona.campuslabs.com/engage/events?query=cultural%20graduations
