Professor Emerita Peggy J. Snyder, who formerly served as the chair of the College of Business Administration’s management and human resources department, died Feb. 21 after a battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 89.
Snyder taught at Cal Poly Pomona from 1981 until she retired in 1999. After retiring, she created the endowed Peggy J. Snyder Scholarship Fund to provide financial support for students in need and who demonstrated both academic achievement and leadership on campus.
She also was active in Pace Setters, an organization for retired faculty and staff.
Professor Emerita Kathleen Harcharik lauded Snyder as a boss and a mentor.
“She never lost sight of what was important,” Harcharik said. “Peggy paved the way for all of us to learn and do our best.”
