Biology professor Steve Alas (’94) was named one of the five recipients of the 2023 Wang Family Excellence Award. Alas, in his 10th year as director of CPP’s Science Educational Enhancement Services (SEES) program, has helped thousands of students at CPP over the years while diversifying the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. He also established an additional support program for undergraduate and graduate students and secured more than $2.5 million in federal grants to support them.
