Diverse: Issues in Higher Education has again recognized Cal Poly Pomona among the nation’s “Top Producers of Hispanic Graduates.” In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the magazine’s Sept. 29 issue highlighted schools with a high level of undergraduate student success in several disciplines.

Cal Poly Pomona was among the top 25 institutions for Latino/a/x graduates nationally as well as the highest ranked polytechnic institution for the following majors:

  • No. 3 in business administration, management and operations
  • No. 4 in engineering
  • No. 13 in social sciences
  • No. 25 in communications, journalism and related programs

In the magazine’s 2021 Top 100 listing of schools with the most Latino/a/x student graduates in all majors, Cal Poly Pomona was No. 18.

Both rankings are recognition of the high-quality education provided to students and their academic success. The rankings were based on 2020-21 data from the Integrated Postsecondary Data Collection System (IPEDS) collected by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics.

Among the most diverse polytechnic universities in the nation, CPP’s student body is 49 percent Latino/a/x, 21 percent Asian, 15 percent White, 5 percent international, 3 percent Black and 7 percent other.
