Juneteenth is an opportunity for us to gather in community to confront the pain and indignity that slavery has left behind, while also reflecting on the continued fight for freedom and justice — then and now. Student Affairs and Academic Affairs are proud to invite the campus community to join Cal Poly Pomona’s inaugural Juneteenth commemoration event on June 14. While all in-person seats are now reserved, it’s not too late for virtual attendees to take part in a discussion of Black well-being on campus, view performances and have a chance to participate in an artistic project in community with other attendees.
