Professor Emeritus James “Jim” Rogers Hill, a dedicated teacher and mentor to fellow faculty and students alike, died Jan. 1. He was 93.
The Richmond, Indiana native arrived at Cal Poly Pomona in 1967. He retired in 2000.
“He started when the School of Business was being organized,” former International Business and Marketing Management Chair Juanita Roxas (PhD) said. “He headed our logistics career track and developed almost all the logistics and transportation classes.”
The Marine Corps veteran taught courses in both marketing and international business. His counseled and advised students and supported student organizations. Hill once served as the marketing department chair.
