Provost Alva Named CSU Executive Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs


CSU Chancellor Joseph Castro announced the appointment of Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Sylvia A. Alva as the California State University’s next Executive Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs. She will leave her position at Cal Poly Pomona on July 30. In a message to the campus community, CPP President Soraya M. Coley praised Provost Alva’s contributions, including the Academic Master Plan and a 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation status. President Coley will announce an interim provost after consulting appropriate stakeholders, and a national search for the permanent incumbent will commence this fall.
