Harvard Fellow Appointee

Álvaro Huerta, associate professor of urban and region planning, and ethnic and women’s studies, has been appointed to the inaugural cohort of Religion and Public Life Fellows 2021-2022 at Harvard Divinity School (HDS). The cohort is part of HDS’s Religious Literacy and the Professions Initiative. Huerta described being “honored” and “humbled” by the invitation to participate. Given his community organizing and academic background, he plans to focus on Latinas/os and the role religion has played in social movements, such as the United Farm Workers and Católicos por La Raza.
