The mass vaccination hub at Cal Poly Pomona is located in a large parking structure, but that doesn’t mean that a car is required to receive a shot. Strategically located near the 10, 71 and 57 freeways, the hub is open to multiple modes of transportation – cars, bikes, buses, rideshare, walking. The hub is a walk-in facility, requiring all to exit vehicles or other modes of transportation and enter the hub on foot.
When the vaccine hub opened in February, community leaders praised the hub’s accessibility to the community.
“We’re going to provide access to people that may not have a car. What’s really important here is that people have access, that they can come up, they can take a bus ride, possibly even take the Metro. We should make sure that everyone takes advantage,” Los Angeles County Supervisor and Cal Poly Pomona alumna Hilda Solis said at the hub’s opening in February.
