Be Leery of Email Scams

The university has recently seen a sizeable increase in spam emails and phishing attempts, especially those related to job opportunities. Cyber criminals often use job offers, work-from-home opportunities or COVID-19 products to phish for your credit card or personal information, spread misinformation or sell fraudulent products. While email spam filters may catch many of the fraudulent messages, it is important to be alert and look for signs of potential email scams. Don’t correspond or forward the message, other than to report it to or authorities.
