Major League Debut


Cody Ponce, who played baseball at Cal Poly Pomona from 2013-2015, made his major league debut on Aug. 2, for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The pitcher became the 12th former CPP player to play in the major leagues. Ponce was drafted 55th overall in the 2015 MLB Draft after completing his CPP career, making the Upland native the second-highest draft pick in the history of Cal Poly Pomona baseball.
