Making a Sustainable Impact

Gabriel Granco, assistant professor of geography, was awarded the Agricultural Research Institute Grant for nearly $10,000, an award that shows CPP’s critical role in advancing the sustainability of agricultural production. His research addresses specialty crop production in California by developing spatial suitability models using geospatial technology and machine learning for current and future environmental conditions. “I am fortunate to pursue research focusing on contributing to my local environment. Also, I am eager to have the students in my research groups engaging in this important work,” he said.
