Steven Kim has joined Cal Poly Pomona as the new assistant vice president for strategic business services and the chief procurement officer.
In his role, Kim will oversee procurement, contracts administration, asset management, graphics and distributions services, Bronco Copy’N Mail, and event venues and meeting spaces for the university.
Kim brings more than 20 years of experience in the areas of strategic sourcing and procurement, comprehensive supply chain management, business process improvement, organizational development and leading cross-functional teams. His experience spans multiple industries and various skill sets in the strategic sourcing/procurement area. In alignment with goals set forth in the university’s Strategic Plan, Steven will focus on revenue enhancement, continuous improvement, cost reduction and business process redesign.
Kim holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Seattle University, an MBA from Yale University, as well as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
