As part of the San Bernardino Freeway (I-10) High Occupancy Vehicle Lane Project, Caltrans will be closing the on- and off-ramps at Kellogg Drive for periods of time starting later this spring and into summer and then again in the fall. Once completed, this project adds a much-needed HOV lane to I-10, helping to alleviate traffic congestion.
Considering that Kellogg Drive is a major access point for our campus as well as a thoroughfare for the city of Pomona and Mt. San Antonio College, we expect that the impact on our campus will be significant. While these closures are still months away, we are working closely with Caltrans to assess and mitigate the effect on university operations. Likewise, we have already started planning efforts to address traffic challenges and ensure that the campus community is up-to-date on information related to the closures.
To help you plan accordingly, regular updates will be communicated via email and CPP social media channels, and information along with FAQs will be posted to the CPP Compass website. Specific questions or comments related to the closures can be submitted at the Compass as well.
You can find additional information about the project by visiting the Caltrans District 7 website at https://www.dot.ca.gov/d7/projects/10/10-hov.html.
