Find Out Before the Shaking Starts

The City of Los Angeles has a new early warning alert system for earthquakes. You can get an immediate warning on your phone that an earthquake is about to hit, and this option is available in the Los Angeles County area through the new ShakeAlertLA app. The app is available for download for Apple and Android phones and is capable of alerting people up to 20 seconds before an earthquake of magnitude-5.0 or greater.
