Cal Poly Pomona is highlighting the university’s academic talent in a new online Experts Guide that will serve as a tool to help media find faculty to provide context and analysis on events and people in the news.
“This will help expand the university’s presence in local, state and national media,” said Tim Lynch, associate vice president for strategic communications and marketing. “California, with its many universities, is a competitive news space, but Cal Poly Pomona has experts with the kind of topical knowledge, experience and perspective that media desire. The new guide will help connect them.”
The Experts Guide has dedicated sections for featured experts, trending topics and individual profiles. It is searchable by both expertise and name. The initial database includes 37 faculty and staff experts on topics ranging from politics and social media to fire and landscape, immigration, student success, earthquakes and human-made reefs. More faculty and expertise areas will be added monthly.
The Experts Guide is managed by the Department of Strategic Communications.
