International Education Week (IEW) is a worldwide celebration of the millions of people who improve global understanding through exchange programs. Cal Poly Pomona will honor its thousands of international students, scholars, faculty and staff—and the amazing richness and diversity of the campus – during a week of festivities Nov. 13-16.
The festivities get underway with a kickoff celebration Tuesday, Nov. 13 in the Engineering Meadow at noon. The International Center will put up a large map of the world and is inviting students to place a flag on it for every country that they have visited. There will be performances, free pizza and an opportunity to speak with several clubs.
A faculty panel will tackle the theme “Empowering Students through Education Abroad” on Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center’s Ursa Minor. This event will feature faculty leaders in international education who have developed and led study abroad programs. The panel will focus on the value of study abroad and why it is a significant part of the student experience.
Visit the Taste of Education Abroad Fair in the University Quad on Thursday, Nov. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Explore international possibilities and get inspired! Find out more about study abroad programs best suited for you and learn more from our global partners and study abroad alumni. Attendees can also sample delicious food from around the world.
