With Cal Poly Pomona doing semesters, we are now ordering items at the same time as most other schools in the nation. Previously we had some luxury by being able to place orders during factory downtimes. Now, for all special orders, allow 3-4 weeks of lead time, if not longer. Not only for items from the Bookstore, but for vendors that you order from directly. Giving insufficient lead time can cause various issues which will cause you to be without the item you need. Planning ahead is key to success, and limiting rush orders will save on expedited fees. With proper lead time, errors can be corrected by the vendor (generally) and delivery of the products through the University system can flow more naturally to you. This will limit the stress on you and your department.
