Section of Roof on CLA Building to Be Replaced Starting June 11

A fenced-off construction staging yard for the roof project will be established in the dirt area just north of the CLA paseo.
A fenced-off construction staging yard for the roof project will be established in the dirt area just north of the CLA paseo.

A portion of the roof on the classroom side of the CLA Building will undergo renovation starting on Monday, June 11.

A temporary, fenced-off construction staging yard in the dirt area just north of the paseo will be erected. The scheduled completion date of the roof renovation is July 20.

The project will require the use of a crane that will be situated on the pathway between the CLA Building and the W.K. Kellogg Rose Garden on June 12 and June 13. To ensure the safety of the campus community, vehicle traffic and pedestrians will be diverted away from the crane and construction yard.

The crane will be used to hoist roofing material for the renovation work. Email notification about the three additional days that the crane will be in operation will be given 48 hours before work begins. Notices about crane operations also will be posted on The Compass website.

The roofing project requires some areas around the CLA Building to be cordoned off. Access to the CLA Building, paseo and the W.K. Kellogg Rose Garden may be affected during the project.

Pedestrians and users of the CLA Building are urged to use detours around the work site. The project is being overseen by the Department of Facilities Planning & Management.
