PayScale names Cal Poly Pomona one of the nation’s “Best Value Colleges” in its 2018 College ROI Report. The university is ranked No. 96 nationally based on in-state tuition, moving up from No. 124 in 2017.
Payscale lists Cal Poly Pomona’s 20-year net return on investment as $551,000. The ranking is based on survey data, cost, average loan amount and typical number of years to graduate. The university ranks No. 127 when comparing out-of-state tuition.
“College is an investment – both time and money,” notes the PayScale study. “The benefit to this particular investment is that there are returns far beyond the obvious monetary ones. However, the financial aspects of evaluating college return on investment cannot be ignored. And some schools are simply doing a better job of setting their alumni up for success in the job market.”
