Cal Poly Pomona music students finished a recent singing competition on a high note, winning awards in three categories.

Nine voice majors participated in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Los Angeles chapter’s annual Student Auditions Collegiate Division event on March 31. The students vied against singers from universities and colleges throughout the Los Angeles basin, who came together at the competition for a feedback audition.

Four of the students representing Cal Poly Pomona made it to the final round, all earning awards. Music Professor Susan Ali, the department’s voice area coordinator and a National Association of Teachers of Singing executive board member served as chair of the annual event held at Orange Coast College this year.

Winners
