Cal Poly Pomona has been recognized among the “Top 10 Graphic Design Schools and Colleges in California” in 2018 by Animation Career Review. The graphic design program was ranked at No. 9.
Rankings criteria were based on academic reputation, depth and breadth of the program, admission selectivity, value (as it relates to tuition and indebtedness) and geographic location.
Courses in the department range from drawing and rendering – basic two-dimensional design, to three-dimensional design, motion and user-interface graphics. Students learn to work creatively in typography, print, identity, illustration, packaging, web design, motion graphics and environmental graphic design.
“The ranking is a testament to our well-rounded foundational program that allows our students to branch out into various visual communication formats and disciplines,” said Raymond Kampf, chair of the Department of Art.
