New Emergency Chairs at Cal Poly Pomona

The university has recently acquired and installed 19 new emergency evacuation chairs in multi-story buildings on campus. The chairs are lightweight and easy to use during an emergency to evacuate immobilized individuals down stairways. They are distinguishable by bright yellow covers used to protect them from exposure to the environmental elements. The chairs have a mobile security device/alarm attached to them to prevent tampering or theft.
