The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is closing roadways for emergency repair work beginning tonight at 6 that directly affects the Cal Poly Pomona community, especially those planning to travel west on Interstate 10.

The following closures will be in effect:

  • The westbound Kellogg Drive on-ramp and Via Verde on- and off-ramps will be closed.
  • 3 lanes of the westbound I-10 between the Corona Freeway (SR-71) and Via Verde will be closed.
  • The Orange Freeway (SR-57) connector to westbound I-10 will be closed.

The emergency work will take place Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. through Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 5 a.m. Detour signs will be posted. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes. To go west on the I-10, take Temple Avenue west to Grand Avenue and go north to the I-10.

After the recent rainstorms, potholes developed along westbound I-10, so Caltrans secured an emergency contract for lane repairs.
