Cal Poly Pomona will salute its veterans at a ceremony next week that is open to the campus community.
The annual Veterans Day event is set for Tuesday, Nov. 8 from noon to 1 p.m. in University Park. President Soraya M. Coley’s husband, Ron Coley, will be the keynote speaker. The 20-year military veteran serves as UC Riverside’s vice chancellor of Business and Administrative Services.
Gabriel Smith, Associated Students Inc. vice president, will be the student veteran speaker. He is a U.S. Army veteran.
The U.S. Marine Corps 3rd Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company will present the colors, and Cal Poly Pomona’s wind ensemble will perform.
The event also will include a resource fair from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., featuring several on-campus and off-campus organizations that provide services to veterans.
The center also will host a U.S. Marine Corps Birthday Celebration on Thursday, Nov. 10 from noon to 1 p.m. The celebration will be in the Heritage Room in Building 98 (CLA Tower) on the 8th floor. Lunch will be provided, along with birthday cake.
