Around Southern California, it’s no secret that Cal Poly Pomona, with its relatively low tuition and high-quality course offerings, is a great value. For that, the university has now been included in Money magazine’s Best Colleges for Your Money rankings.
Cal Poly Pomona came in at 149th place out of the 705 public four-year colleges and universities the magazine’s rankings included. Fourteen CSU campuses appeared on the list, of which Cal Poly Pomona ranked fourth. The rankings used 24 measures in three categories:
- Educational quality: Graduation rate, average freshman standardized test scores, student-to-faculty ratio
- Affordability: Total cost, debt upon graduation, student loan repayments
- Alumni success: Graduate’s earnings, campus career-finding services, market value of alumni skills, job meaningfulness
“I am pleased that Money magazine recognizes Cal Poly Pomona for providing students with an affordable and high quality education with an excellent return on their investment, ” says Provost Sylvia A. Alva.
Cal Poly Pomona was joined on the list by 13 other CSU campuses: Chico, Fresno, San Luis Obispo, Maritime, San Jose, San Diego, Stanislaus, Long Beach, San Francisco, Sonoma, San Bernardino, Fullerton and San Marcos. Read the CSU’s story about the rankings by clicking here.
