University Drive will be closed on the south side of campus from July 5 to 8 as the university makes preparations for the opening of its second parking structure.
The closure will affect University Drive between Temple Avenue and Eucalyptus Lane beginning at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5. Crews will be repairing and replacing asphalt that had to be removed for the installation of a new traffic signal and utility lines in the area, says Bruyn Bevans, senior project manager for facilities design and construction. University Drive will reopen at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 8.
In order to access the south side of campus — Ag Valley, the Collins College, Kellogg West, etc. — motorists will need to enter University Drive at its intersection with Kellogg Drive.
“That’s the long way around, but it will get you there,” Bevans says, adding that crews are completing the work in only three days to minimize inconvenience to the campus community.
