Cal Poly Pomona has initiated several organizational moves to position departments with other units that share commonalities or purposes. The changes, which will help streamline campus operations, align with the organizational composition at most other CSU campuses.
The University Police Department and Parking & Transportation Services will move to the Division of Administrative Affairs. Currently, these departments are under the Division of Student Affairs.
In addition, the Enrollment Management & Services unit will be moving to the Division of Academic Affairs. The unit includes Admissions & Outreach, Financial Aid, Orientation Services, Registrar’s Office, One-Stop Center and the Veterans Resource Center.
Police Chief Dario Robinson will report to the vice president of Administrative Affairs and maintain a close relationship with Student Affairs. The restructuring allows the department to focus on its institutional role of promoting campus safety and public well-being, as well as supporting student success and campus life.
Parking & Transportation Services, which will report to the police chief, will have a critical role as the university begins major construction projects for future student housing, Kellogg Drive realignment and the new student services building.
The transition will be finalized July 1, when the new fiscal year begins.
