Cal Poly Pomona’s Career Center is hosting its last big event of the year, the Spring Career Fair.
The University Quad will be packed Thursday, April 21 with 229 employers representing all majors from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Some of the visiting companies include Apple, Hilton Worldwide, PepsiCo and Verizon Wireless.
“Students have the opportunity to speak directly with employers at the fair and then be invited for more in-depth interviews,” says Tom Munnerlyn, director of the Career Center.
The Spring Career Fair is open to current Cal Poly Pomona students and alumni, and the center recommends that students who are not graduating this year still attend.
According to Munnerlyn, the fair is a great way for non-graduating students to find out about summer internships and start networking for future employment opportunities.
The center suggests that students bring their resumes and be prepared to tell employers how their skills match the position and organization. Students should also come dressed in business attire. Students in need of proper dress may pick out a free outfit at the Career Center’s Career Clothes Closet.
