The Strategic Planning website has been launched, giving the campus community an opportunity to share vital input as Cal Poly Pomona charts a course for the next several years.

Faculty, staff, students, alumni, supporters and friends will have the opportunity to provide input about Cal Poly Pomona’s mission, values, strengths and identity through an online feedback form. The form will close at noon on Monday, May 9.

“Your voice is essential to this collaborative process,” said University President Soraya M. Coley. “We look forward to your active participation as you share your ideas to help shape our future direction.”

A Strategic Planning Steering Committee composed of faculty members appointed from the Academic Senate, as well as a diverse group of staff, students, administrators and external stakeholders, is leading the process. It is co-chaired by Coley and Provost Sylvia A. Alva. Lisa Alex, chair and professor of the chemistry and biochemistry department, is the committee’s presidential fellow.

In addition to the website, the committee will engage with various groups through town hall meetings, focus groups and individual interviews. These sessions are being planned for the spring quarter.

Committee members will also lead efforts to define the university’s polytechnic identity and the advantages it provides to students and graduates. The polytechnic identity is one of four key questions facing the committee.
