The Department of Architecture at the College of Environmental Design has made the DesignIntelligence list of the Top 20 architecture schools in the country for the third year in a row.
The “America’s Best Architecture & Design Schools” survey asked selected practitioners with experience hiring and supervising architecture and design graduates to participate in the annual research.
More than 1,400 professional practice organizations took the survey for four disciplines: architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and industrial design. Participants were asked which schools are best at preparing students for a future in the profession by equipping them with the skills for designing a sustainable future. They were also asked which programs excelled in teaching skills such as design, communication, sustainability and technology.
The Department of Architecture’s excellence was noted in several categories:
- Top 20 Undergraduate Programs in the United States: No. 19
- Top 5 Architecture Schools in the West: No. 5
- Top 10 for Construction Methods & Materials: No. 6 (undergraduate and graduate programs), tied with Massachusetts Institute of Technology
