A suspect is in custody after a vehicle pursuit through the San Gabriel Valley ended on the edge of the Cal Poly Pomona campus Wednesday.
The driver of the vehicle led California Highway Patrol officers and L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies on a chase along several local freeways before he bailed from his car on the 10 Freeway just north of campus. The man fled down a hill in the direction of the Residence Halls, but was quickly stopped and apprehended by a law enforcement official who pursued him on foot.
The area behind the Residence Halls and University Drive were briefly closed while the law enforcement agencies coordinated their activities. The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance after complaining of pain.
