Students seeking job and internship opportunities will have a chance to meet with prospective employers at the Cal Poly Pomona Career Center’s Spring Career Fair.
The event, scheduled Thursday, April 23, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the University Quad, is expected to draw 195 companies.
The list of participants includes American Honda Motor Co., Panda Express, Target and Union Pacific Railroad Co.
The career fair is open for all majors and will feature industries ranging from government to non-profit to for-profit, says Tom Munnerlyn, director of the Career Center.
“We haven’t had this many employers since before the economic downturn in 2008,” he says.
Students will be able to talk to representatives from various organizations, many of them Cal Poly Pomona alumni, about employment opportunities, internships, career paths and how to prepare for the workplace.
“I tell students that even though they might not be graduating this year, it is important to network now,” Munnerlyn says.
