TEDx is coming to Cal Poly Pomona through TEDxCPP, an independently organized TED event.
The event will feature TED Talk videos and speakers to inspire deep discussion and connection in a small group.
The schedule of nine speakers includes Kevin Lyman, a Cal Poly Pomona alumnus best known for creating the Vans Warped Tour; Tom Soderstrom, chief technology and innovation officer at JPL; and Jot Condie, who serves as vice chairman of operations for the California Tourism Commission.
Cal Poly Pomona faculty and students will also present.
The theme of the TEDx CPP is “Progress.”
Gal Bechor, one of the four students organizing the event, says that he has learned a great deal about society through watching TED Talks on YouTube.
“We wanted to bring this event to Cal Poly Pomona because TED talks strongly influenced all of our lives,” he says.
The event is scheduled Wednesday, March 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center.
Tickets are sold out, but a livestream of the event will be available at https://tedxcpp.com/speakers/event-livestream.
