Three faculty members will receive honors Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Provost’s Awards for Excellence Symposium.
Professors Alison Baker, Dan Hostetler and Angel Valdes were chosen for the 2014 Provost’s Awards for Excellence.
Baker teaches medieval literature in the Department of English & Foreign Languages and is the recipient of the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
A plant sciences professor, Hostetler is the recipient for the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Service.
Valdes is an associate professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and the winner of the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Scholarly and Creative Activities.
Each will make a presentation at the symposium, which will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Bronco Student Center, Ursa Major. The event includes a catered reception and live entertainment.
The faculty members were also honored at their college’s respective commencement ceremonies last spring.
The Provost’s Awards Selection Committee is accepting nominations for the 2015 awards. The deadline is Tuesday, Feb. 24.
