Longtime Cal Poly Pomona employee Vaughn Lucas died Monday, Jan. 19, after battling cancer. He was 60.
An instructional support assistant in academic technology, Lucas worked for the university for 27 years. He also served as a lecturer, teaching classes in computer and management information systems in the College of Business Administration.
In addition, he spent seven years as the California State University Employees Chapter 319 labor representative for Bargaining Unit 9. And he served as the chapter vice president for the last three years.
Lucas is survived by his wife, Dorian; their six children; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Moreno Valley Stake Center, 23300 Old Lake Drive in Moreno Valley. A viewing will precede the service at 10 a.m.
