After six years at Cal Poly Pomona, Richard Lapidus, dean of the College of Business Administration, will leave his post this summer.
Lapidus has been named president of Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, Mass. The university’s Board of Trustees announced his selection in December, which is effective July 1, according to the university’s website.
The longtime educator became dean of the College of Business Administration on July 1, 2009. Prior to coming to campus, he served as the associate dean of administration and associate professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ business school, as well as chair of its marketing department.
Lapidus holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, a master’s degree in marketing from Cal State Long Beach, and a doctorate in marketing from the University of Nebraska.
He previously worked in the private sector as an account manager for NCR Corp. in New York and as a sales representative for Moore Corp. in New York.
