Ethics Bowl Team Takes 2nd at Regionals, Heads to Nationals

A Cal Poly Pomona team took second place in the California Regional Ethics Bowl competition last weekend and is headed to the national championships.

The Ethics Bowl is a team-based oral presentation competition in which students analyze contemporary ethical controversies. The team consists of seniors Lea Aguilera, Briana Capshaw, Grace Nguyen and Shandyn Pierce, and junior Mathew McGuthry. It is coached by Philosophy Professor Michael Cholbi.

The California Regional Ethics Bowl competition was held in Santa Barbara on Dec. 6. The team was one of 32 selected to participate in the 19th National Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl Competition on Feb. 22 in Costa Mesa.
