Recently, the Los Angeles County Public Health Department (PHD) informed the university that a student involved in summer programming and training between Aug. 11 and Sept. 6 had been diagnosed with Pertussis (whooping cough). All those who may have been exposed to this individual have been personally notified as to this situation. As a general word of precaution, now would be a good time to check your record for a current Pertussis (“T-dap”) vaccine.
