Reese Delivers TEDx Talk to Prison Inmates

Posted on July 16, 2014

Political Science Professor Renford Reese recently gave a TEDx talk to inmates at Ironwood State Prison in Blythe.

He was on the same program with Sir Richard Branson and CSI: NY star Hill Harper among others.

Reese is the founder of the Prison Education Project, which brings college student volunteers into seven California prisons to tutor inmates in pre-GED math and literacy skills and give academic orientation presentations.

He also founded the Reintegration Academy to help parolees with life skills, and academic and career development as they make the transition back into society.
