The campus community is invited to the annual Veterans Day ceremony to honor those who have served the country.
With the campus closed on Monday in observance of Veterans Day, the ceremony will take place on Tuesday in the University Quad from noon to 1 p.m. Soldiers from the United States Army’s recruiting station in Rowland Heights will perform as the ceremony’s color guard.
The event will include speeches by student veterans. Political science student and Marine Corps veteran Michael Bailey is the event MC. Music industry student Joel Solis will discuss his experience as a Marine Corps veteran, and Michael Landeros, a manufacturing engineering student and Marine Corps veteran, will speak about the historical connections between W.K. Kellogg and the Army.
President Michael Ortiz, Provost Marten denBoer and Vice President of Student Affairs Doug Freer will also make speeches. A Veteran Affairs Mobile Vet Center will be on campus to provide additional resources for student veterans.
