Students from across the university to join this year’s National Model United Nations Team. Up to 16 students will represent Cal Poly Pomona in competition starting March 30 in New York City. Team members receive academic credit and have their travel and lodging during the conference paid for by ASI funds. Students interested in participating may pick up an application in the CLASS dean’s office. Applicants also must submit letters of recommendation from professors who are familiar with their academic achievements and potential and provide a graded writing assignment that demonstrates their ability to construct and defend an argument. Although there are no specific qualifications or prior experience required, applicants should have knowledge of the UN, its history, its structure and its operations.
