Signal Timing at Temple, S. Campus Drive Changed

CPP News

Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists should pay close attention to newly reconfigured traffic signals at Temple Avenue and South Campus Drive.

The signals that allow pedestrians to cross Temple Avenue at the western and eastern sides of the intersection no longer operate together: only one crosswalk will be open for pedestrian crossings at a time.

In addition, vehicles will move at different times than pedestrians under the new signal sequence. Motorists and pedestrians should take note of their respective signals to avoid accidents.

The city of Pomona changed the timing of the signals this summer to reduce traffic congestion and bottlenecks at the intersection. The change allows for the more efficient movement of vehicles, particularly for eastbound traffic on Temple that is turning left onto South Campus Drive.
