The L.A. County Fair is here once again with those rousing rides, deep-fried foods and prize-winning pigs. What better way to enjoy the annual festivities than with your fellow Broncos?
On Saturday, Sept. 28, students, faculty and staff will receive free admission on Cal Poly Pomona Day when they present their Bronco ID card and a printable coupon. Alumni can buy discount tickets online using the promo code CPPALUMNI (choose Adult Any-Day Fair Admission).
A free shuttle service from Cal Poly Pomona to the fairgrounds will be operating continuously from 10:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. The shuttle will pick up from parking lot C, near the main parking kiosk. Parking & Transportation Services will not be ticketing in lot C that day, so no permit is required.
The day will be filled with representations of Bronco pride, including:
- 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Student clubs and organizations will provide information and display their achievements. They will be at the plaza just inside the Blue Gate entrance (Gate 9) off of White Avenue.
- Noon – The Cal Poly Pomona parade will start in front of the Millard Sheets Center for the Arts. The parade route will pass through the Outdoor Living area, loop around the Carnival zone and end near the Green Gate.
- 1 to 2 p.m. – Students will perform on the entertainment stage, next the Blue Gate entrance.
If you stop by the Big Red Barn, don’t be surprised if the
animals look familiar. About 150 of the university’s sheep, goats and calves
are at the fair’s petting zoo and will be in the barn for the entire month.
Don’t forget to wear your green and gold and show off your Bronco spirit!
The county fair ends on Sunday, Sept. 29.
