Cal Poly Pomona has launched a newly redesigned website that is more intuitive and caters to the needs of current students, future students and visitors.
The first phase of the redesign project includes the home page and heavily used or needed pages, such as admissions and academics. More sites will be updated in later phases. BroncoDirect, Blackboard and links to other accounts can be found in Online Services, a hub for online sign-ins.
Other changes based on user feedback include:
- Easy links to popular sites in the header and footer. Links to the library, colleges and online services are easily accessible from every page.
- A scrolling campus topics featuring the biggest news, events and issues happening at Cal Poly Pomona
- A quick view of the local weather
- An entire section devoted to campus life
The current site was introduced in 2009, and while it met the university’s needs at the time, university leaders wish to take advantage of new technology and web standards. The nearly two-year project involved several groups across campus, including the web core team, the web tech team and the IT Task Force. The design was developed after a series of student surveys and usability tests.
