The Cal Poly Pomona community is invited to participate in a symposium on how 21st-century technology will influence teaching, learning and research.
“PolyTeach 2013: Technology and the Innovative University” will be held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday in Ursa Minor at the Bronco Student Center. It’s the second year that the university has hosted the event.
Vikki Costa, professor of science education at Cal State Fullerton and a consultant to NASA and Intel Education, will give a keynote address on “The 21st Century University.”
The symposium will give Cal Poly Pomona faculty and staff the opportunity to stay current with the latest tools for improving learning.
The event also will include a student demonstration of innovative technology use for high-quality assignments; discussions of Cal Poly Pomona’s future in light of the online, on-demand, project-based educational model developed by innovator Sal Khan; technology and learning apps “speed dating.”
