The music department has released its calendar of music events and concerts for fall quarter.
The 2012-13 season kicks off with the Shpachenko & Friends Chamber Music Festival, featuring piano master classes and an evening performance. Three distinguished pianists will critique and advise Cal Poly Pomona students at three master classes in October.
On Oct. 17, Cal Poly Pomona Professor Nadia Shpachenko performs with Martin Chalifour, principal concertmaster for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and David Korevaar, a solo and chamber pianist. The concert program includes Mozart’s Sonata for Piano Four-Hands in C Major, Sonata for Violin and Piano in D minor by Brahms, and Partita for Violin and Piano by Lutoslawski.
Tickets may be purchased online at https://csupomona.tix.com or at the Music Box Office in Building 24, room 188 daily from noon to 1 p.m. They are also available one hour before show time. For more information, visit www.class.cpp.edu/mu.
