Cal Poly Pomona will hold its 56th annual commencement ceremonies Friday to Sunday, June 8-10 for about 5,500 bachelor’s and master’s degree candidates.
Each of the eight colleges will hold its own ceremony, all of which take place in the University Quad, adjacent to the Campus Center Marketplace (Building 97). Tickets are not required, and guests are encouraged to arrive at least one hour beforehand.
Of special note this year, Cal Poly Pomona will award an honorary doctorate to Ron Simons, whose six-decade affiliation with the university as a student, administrator and mentor has rightfully earned him the nickname “Mr. Cal Poly Pomona.” His impact on the university stretches from the Rose Float Lab to Building 1, from Voorhis Park to Kellogg West, and from his many friends on campus to the many alumni whose lives he has touched. Simons will receive his hood at the College of Agriculture ceremony on Sunday evening.
Parking permits are required and may be purchased (cash only) on the day of the event for $10. Permits may also be pre-purchased for $5 (until June 9) from the Bronco Bookstore or the university cashiers. Disabled parking will be available in Lot C. For more information about parking, visit www.cpp.edu/commencement/visitors.shtml#parking or call (909) 869-3061.
Details about commencement, including maps of campus and professional photography, are available online at www.cpp.edu/commencement.
