Eva Anneli Adams has joined the College of the Extended University as executive director of global initiatives, overseeing the administration and activities at the International Center and the Cal Poly English Language Institute. In addition, she will manage international program development and administration of the college’s global education programs.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Adams join the staff at the CEU,” says interim dean Jerald Chesser. “She brings excellent experience to the position as an educator and administrator and is highly qualified to oversee our Global Education Programs.”
Prior to her arrival at Cal Poly Pomona, Adams led campus internationalization, program development, and faculty and staff development at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas. Her career in international education began with the Department of State at the U.S. Embassy in Helsinki, Finland, where she served for seven years as a consular official followed by 13 years of U.S. government academic and exchange program administration. Adams has served on national committees on international education, as well as the board of directors of the World Affairs Council of Las Vegas and on the board of directors of the North American Council for Staff, Program, and Organizational Development. She holds a doctoral degree in educational leadership and a master’s degree in adult education. She has a strong academic background and experience in working with faculty in higher education. Adams has taught full-time at the undergraduate level and part-time at the graduate level. She has also published on the sociology of leadership.
