Student Health Services will be participating in a nationwide campaign in April to help reduce the spread of STDs among young people through information, open communication, and testing and treatment. About 200 schools are part of the awareness campaign, but Cal Poly Pomona is only one of 15 universities nationwide to gather data and report back to the CDC. During April, anyone going to SHS for STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) testing will be asked to complete a survey to measure the marketing effectiveness of the campaign. In addition, the center will report back to the CDC on the number of Chlamydia tests and the number of positive tests. For more information about the campaign, visit www.itsyoursexlife.com/gyt.
